Family Friendly Libraries is pleased to announce that the Gwinnett County Public Library will be one of two public libraries receiving of the Family Friendly Libraries Award of Recognition for the month of April, 2007.

We have determined that the Gwinnett County Public Library meets all of the seven Family Friendly Libraries Standards for Public Libraries. These standards include, but are not limited to, the utilization of Internet filters in compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, allowing parents to limit their minor child’s borrowing privileges, and providing a ‘parents’ advisory section’ for materials parents may wish to pre-screen for their children.

The award will be presented by Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau to the Gwinnett County Public Library director and board of trustees on Monday, June 11th, at 6:00 p.m. prior to the regularly scheduled meeting of the library board at the Five Forks library branch.
